Leading Your Pack

Posted on by admin in Branding

In Part 1 of this series, I highlighted the importance of finding your community of mentors and like-minded business owners to support you, share resources, and elevate your game.

Now let’s talk about why creating AND leading your own pack is just as important as joining one.

community of clientsBeing at the source of a community is a great way to generate new business and build a loyal brand following, but it’s so much more than that. It’s a chance to stretch your leadership muscles and it keeps you on your toes, forcing you to constantly refine your work and discover new ways to provide value. Staying connected to your market is the best way to discover what they really need most.

But, delivering value through your content, your conversations, and your services isn’t enough. You also have to give your clients access to information and resources via group settings like workshops, masterminds, events, etc.

How do you begin building your own community?

It’s all about bringing people together, so even offering group calls is an effective (and easy) way to facilitate valuable exchanges between business owners. It also gives clients the chance to experience your value first-hand while letting you seed higher level services.

Even something informal, like my Facebook group, is a perfect example. So much valuable information is shared there on a daily basis. It gives my community a platform to celebrate their wins, reach out for support, and nurture relationships. And in the process, they get to know me and my brand. It’s a win-win!

It’s private, so I get to curate the flow of information based on the goals of the group. And, because it’s online, it breeds connection between people who might otherwise never meet, which I love! I invite you to check it out!

Masterminds foster an even deeper level of connection because the interactions are more intimate and intentional. A higher level and longer-term commitment means you dive deep into the business trenches with your fellow masterminders. Everyone is on the journey together and each participant brings something unique, so you get highly related. It’s instant community!

The beauty of building your business community is that it should be fun. Real connection goes beyond business—especially for entrepreneurs. We’re all juggling so much! Personal connection—the “know, like, and trust factor”—is what often drives the business one.

So, while business growth is the ultimate goal, sharing about new babies, hitting personal milestones, and going to the movies together creates a tribe mentality that has us really stick together—and that has others wanting to join in. We’re all much more likely to refer (or get referred by) someone in our community, than someone who may be qualified, but with whom we have no personal relationship.

I also want to emphasize the importance of reciprocity. I show up for my clients, so they know our relationship isn’t one-sided. If they have an event, I’m in the front row cheering them on! Start supporting others. Share your effort and expertise, and they’ll naturally want to support you in return.

Lastly, consider your core values. Whether you’re building your email list or building a community of clients, you will want to create programs and experiences that align with your brand! Mine include connectedness and fun, among other things!

Time to take action! What’s one community-building move you’ll make this week? Share with me below, and whether you’re feeling stuck and need some support or feeling brave and wanna swipe one of the last spots in my mastermind, let’s have a strategy session! This link will take you there.
