How To Master Your Marketing Mix And Bring In More Business

Posted on by admin in Branding

brand valuesBIG THANKS to those of you who joined us for Be The Brand Live in Destin, Florida earlier this month! It was so incredible to be with you, to talk business, swap insights, and watch you get your brave on. I loved seeing many of you blossom right before my very eyes!!! It’s why I continue to choose this work—even on those really difficult days when all I want to do is stay in bed. Thank you for being my inspiration and for bringing your best to this powerful community of brave masters!

Being on stage has made such a difference for my business. Speaking at live events is just one of my marketing mix components, but it may very well be the most impactful. It’s allowed me to reach and connect with so many more people than I ever have before. Here’s why I love speaking so much:

● It gives me a chance to share and test my content with my ideal clients (IT factors) and get live feedback in the moment
● It gives my prospects and clients a chance to be heard and to share their challenges
● It helps me reach a wider audience and connect to people in person, which tends to resonate more effectively and more quickly than sharing content online
● It helps me to gear my new content toward solving the problems they’re dealing with right now
● It demands high-level preparation that always results in powerful new content, the enhancement of systems and structures, and cohesive teamwork — all of those improvements elevate my business
● It demands boldness and BRAVE that challenges me to step outside my comfort zone

We’re well into 2017 now, so if you don’t have a clear game plan for your Brand Approach, now’s the time to get on it. Without a game plan, you’ll likely end up spreading yourself too thin and not getting very far. Waiting will only give you more of the same when what you really want is exponential growth.

But, in this day and age, the options for marketing your business can seem overwhelming. Social media, email marketing, live events, networking, podcasting—the list goes on and on. So, how do you choose the best plan for YOU?

Your marketing mix is the unique list of activities you engage in to market your business.

Choosing yours requires some thoughtful strategy. First and foremost, you’ve got to consider who your ideal clients are, what they need most, and what marketing avenues are most likely to help you reach them. Are you likely to find them online or in person? Surfing social media or listening to a podcast? At an intimate workshop or a massive conference?

You also want to consider your core values, your messaging direction, and the marketing behaviors that best fit your brand. What types of marketing are most likely to help you retain current clients and bring in new ones while staying aligned with your brand values?

Once you’ve got clear answers to those key questions, you’re ready to get the word out and move your business forward. I choose to speak, host events, network, connect via social media, and share blog posts content via email marketing because those are the things that best match my brand value and goals. Choosing your mix will undoubtedly help you reach more of the clients you’re after.

For this week’s challenge, review the items in this list of marketing activities below and note the ones you’re already doing or willing to start implementing as part of your 2017 marketing game plan. Are you ready to step up your brave and consider speaking? Sometimes it’s a matter of testing the waters before you find your perfect mix, but you should ideally choose up to five online activities and five offline activities for a well-balanced mix.
